42 Kings Hill Avenue

This two-storey pavilion office building on the Kings Hill Business Park has paired top-lit atria and entrances at its heart allowing the each floor to be easily sub-divided as required. A recessed balcony running along the north and south elevations forms a ╩╗slot╩╝ within the brick face and timber lined balconies are semi-recessed acting as spill-out spaces for the office accommodation.

The solidity of the external construction, expressed by deep reveals, recessed panels and robust colonnades is contrasted with the clam and light interiors with their pale white walls and flooring, glass balustrading and solid oak framing.

The project was shortlisted for the Best Commercial Development at the 2006 Brick Development Awards.

This project was undertaken when Jim Richards was Director of Richard Partington Architects.
