The Pigeons, Stratford, London

The Pigeons is a locally listed former public house
in Stratford, East London and is situated within the University Conservation Area. It was designed by London Architect, Henry Poston (1849-1908) and was completed in 1899 but had fallen into deep decline in recent years.

Nine unique flats were formed at first and second floor level with the existing ground floor refurbished for retail use. The qualities of the existing building are enhanced by careful and considerate renovation and conversion, with new interventions undertaken using high quality materials in a contemporary yet complementary and harmonious manner.

This project was undertaken when Jim Richards was Director of Richards Partington Architects.
