Collider: step inside the
world’s greatest experiment

We were creative director, and 3D designers for Collider - a new exhibition at the Science Museum that is running until 6th May 2014 before embarking on an International tour. We worked with a team that we brought together from the theatre; playwright Michael Wynne, video designer Finn Ross, sound designer Carolyn Downing, costume designer Antonella Petraccaro and lighting designers studio ZNA to create a piece of theatre that is woven around an exhibition. We wanted to create an immersive environment that includes timed elements, that feels like stepping into the Large Hadron Collider in CERN. We worked with graphic designers Northover & Brown to incorporate real props, with a photographic language of backdrop and animations.

"One of the most ambitious exhibitions in the Science Museum’s 150-year history ... a perfectly pocket-sized introduction to the world of big science ... art and science collide with spectacular results ... in many ways it’s better than the real thing [visiting Cern]".
— The Independent

"It’s impressive that everything is both visually striking (pretty, even) and yet informative, and the Science Museum should be very pleased with Collider."
— New Statesman
