Howick Place Auction
Phillips de Pury temporarily occupied their new space at Howick Place in the Summer of 2006, to create a large, temporary art gallery and auction space. The existing building was left untouched, and pristine white gallery walls were inserted along with a theatre lighting rig. The gallery walls were removed overnight to create a large auction space the following day.
We produced temporary walls that acted as framing devices for rooms behind and concealed construction work in progress. In places, we exploited the existing stripped out nature of the building by exposing double and triple height volumes, letting these dramatic spaces speak for themselves.
