The Clock Stops

Nissen Richards were appointed by the National Trust to provide the 3D Design, 2D Design and Wayfinding for ‘Transforming Nostell’ at Nostell Priory and Parkland. For the exhibition of ‘The Clock Stops’ we designed a round wall which enclosed the space, referencing an extruded piece of clock mechanism with the Harrison clock as the central focus of the room. A timeline runs around the wall with stops at various points. We designed low-tech interactives located along the visitor route, running clockwise so the visitor’s journey echoes the movement of a clock. The exhibition sits alongside an artist installation by Luke Jerram that fills a room with 2,000 clicking clocks, in his piece ‘Harrison’s Garden’.
