Francesco Bitelli

Senior Architect

Francesco is an experienced architect with a passion for well-crafted design and a strong technical background.

After studying architecture at the University of Ferrara, Italy and at Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, he graduated with honours in 2013 with a master’s thesis in architectural technology which explored innovative strategic approaches to social housing design.

After graduating, he spent three years in Italy working on a number of retail and private residential projects. He was involved in the design and technical coordination of 32 Volvo Car showrooms, collaborating with the brand in implementing their new retail concept within the country.

Francesco relocated to London in 2016 and has since worked on several projects across the residential, workplace and retail sectors. Prior to joining Nissen Richards Studio in 2022, he worked at Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands where he gained an extensive experience in designing, coordinating and running complex, high-profile projects such as 200,000 sq.ft Cat. A office building in central London, a department store in Prague and large-scale residential schemes.
His experience spans from the planning stages to the technical implementation of the design. Across all stages, Francesco enjoys combining a creative, problem-solving attitude with his technical knowledge and interest in materials and building technology.
