Usman Rahman

Architectural Assistant

Usman joined Nissen Richards Studio in 2026 after completing a BA (Hons) in Architecture at the University of Westminster. His academic work was grounded in real stories and overlooked communities, using architecture as a tool for social connection. Projects ranged from migration-led civic proposals in Kent to temporary structures in Hackney Wick that explored circular food systems through seaweed harvesting.

He is drawn to architecture’s ability to connect people, history and place in practical, legible ways. While at Westminster, he acted as Architecture Student Representative.

Since graduating, Usman has worked within a landscape design practice, contributed to site-based research on large construction projects and continued working as a freelance graphic designer.
