A ground-breaking new cultural and commercial venue for London

Architecture, Selected

‘Magazine London’ is a new cultural and commercial venue for London. The 3,000-capacity space at Meridian Quays, Greenwich, is the result of a collaboration between innovative space creator Venue Lab, production specialists Vibration Group, experiential pioneers Broadwick Live and property developers Knight Dragon.

Situated on brownfield land on the Thames riverbank, the venue is designed for temporary use (up to 10 years) whilst the area undergoes extensive transformation. We have created a striking contemporary black box, designed as a series of spaces that will provide flexible event spaces that can also be adapted to facilitate other activities, exhibitions, product launches, parties and award ceremonies.

The building evokes its industrial heritage through a monolithic warehouse-style approach, with a steel structure and saw-tooth cladding, and an internal palette of patinated steel, corrugated panels and polished concrete.
